Established over 10 years ago, SPLM was created to help manage the complicated and often-abused environmental clean-up process. With many hands involved in each project, it’s not uncommon for those who have experienced an environmental disaster, or water loss, to be taken advantage of. One small project can balloon into larger projects, work can be shoddy, and the process can be long and arduous.
SPLM streamlines this process. By providing project management (and adjusting services) for environmental and water loss projects, we are ensuring that the job will stay on track, on time and on budget. We have knowledgeable and experienced staff and are committed to keeping the process transparent and straight forward.
Our proven process of managing these projects results in the successful remediation of your environmental problem, in a timely manner, that results in it being resolved in the quickest and most cost-effective way possible. We seamlessly manage all aspects of the project from remediation, to appropriate clearance testing, to completing repairs that put you, your client or your insured back to pre-loss condition

DOUG THOMPSON
Co-Owner and Managing Director of Sierra Pacific Loss Management
Doug has been in the environmental industry for over 32 years. Having built a significant foundation in real estate development and construction with a San Francisco-based investment firm, Mr. Thompson was later asked to head an Australian-owned asbestos abatement company and establish their operations in the United States. After three years, having successfully established the company's presence and operations, Mr. Thompson perceived a need for a different kind of environmental loss company. Doug founded what would become Sierra Pacific Loss Management, which has successfully served the insurance industry, large property owners, cities, counties and governmental agencies for over 20 years. Mr. Thompson, a native and resident of Northern California, received his B.S. in Business from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo..
JIM POWER
Co-Owner and Managing Director of Sierra Pacific Loss Management
Jim has over 24 years of experience in the insurance claims industry with both insurance carriers and as an independent adjuster, was already a recognized professional with traditional first and third party claims before acquiring the unique knowledge and expertise in the environmental claim field. Having managed over 5,500 environmental claims in recent years, a significant portion related to sewer back-ups and water losses, his ability to assess damages and required scopes of work, coupled with his knowledge of legal liability issues, make him uniquely qualified to insure that claims are accurately assessed and evaluated, and the team has the best information to manage them successfully and efficiently. Mr. Power resides in Northern California, graduated from the University of San Francisco and has earned a Certificate in Construction Management from California State University, Hayward.
